From George and Sharmaine – 2nd Quarter Congregational NewsletterApril/May 2009 Congregational Newsletter
Dear Friends In Mar 13:8 it says, “ For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. “
How true this is of the times we live in, there are so many disaster warnings continually, swine flu, landslides, earthquakes and now we have received a warning that a “Quake and Tsunami Predicted July 22 2009” and it will hit countries like Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak), Singapore, Maldives, Australia, Mauritius, Si Lanka, India, Indonesia and the Philippines !
The Bible reassures us that these are only the beginning of sorrows. We get excited because our eyes are looking up! Our spirits say “come Lord Jesus come”, but then in my heart I wonder if we have done everything we could do to tell somebody about Jesus? Have we been inwardly focused or heavenly focused? Where your heart is, is where your treasure will be!
What excites you the most these days, is it Jesus or is it your own pleasures ?
Does this mean that Jesus does not want you to have fun, does this mean that Jesus wants you bathed in Lemon juice? No our friends, He came that we might have life and have an abundant life! A life overflowing with joy!!
Do not let the enemy come to steal kill and destroy things in your life through rumours! Yes be vigilant, yes, do whatever the Lord has told you to do. Yes continue to dream and dream big, you see dreams are powerful things. They help propel us forward in life. They are the aspirations of our hearts, and we hope, the framework of the extraordinary. For better or worse, what we think and what we dream tends to materialize. "As a person thinks in the heart, so a person becomes" (Proverbs 23:7). The best dreams call us to our higher selves, participating creatively in the things and plans of God. Good dreams reflect a Philippians 4:8 orientation: "Brothers and sisters, think about things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected." Dreams that are "worthy of praise, dreams of the Spirit" come to us from many places: our family of faith; a worship experience; deep prayer and meditation. Yet, some of the best dreams come to us from simply living on the planet and being present to what's going on around us. Do not miss the opportunities around you to spread the Gospel, to love the unlovable and to reach some-one for Jesus. Remember God loves you and so do we!

"Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptise them in the name of the Father and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world."
